A meta-directory

ListVerse

A curated catalog of the best awesome-list repositories on GitHub — with editorial notes, categories, and tags.

About

ListVerse is a meta-directory of awesome-list repositories on GitHub — editorial commentary and structured metadata about the lists themselves, not another list of links.

How to read it

The front door is the 20 must-know lists from HIGHLIGHTS.md, in editorial order — not ranked by quality score. Journeys are short on-site trails. Browse is the full catalog. Each list’s interior is its own getting-started, featured entry, and best sections from the JSON. Cards open those interiors; GitHub is a citation at the bottom.

Honesty

Star counts are formatted from live stars_count, never the frozen stars_approx field. Watchers are not shown. There is no generated-at stamp. Freshness is each list’s last-pushed date, plus the phrase “stars refreshed monthly.” Browse is the full catalog on one page; use search and filters. Lists enter by curation (organization, maintenance, fit). Star counts refresh monthly; the set of 195 does not.

Inclusion

Prefer lists that are organized and updated within about two years. Niche lists can land without a star floor.
